Default Fly to faro, holiday in Ayamonte, any updates ?

Hi all, I know this is old news, but it changes so often. Anyone know the latest regarding flying to Faro, from UK, then driving
into Ayamonte. Anyone done it recently. Any restrictions driving between Spain / Portugal. Thanks for any update.

None from our experience, we are frequently crossing from Spain to Portugal and have never been stopped but others may have had a different experience.

Thanks both; possibly less stressful than it appears. I understand we’ll need to fill in locator forms, follow entry requirements for Portugal. And on line it appears that driving over to Spain has no requirements, from Portugal. Hence, could it be possible, we don’t require a locator form for Spain; just follow Portuguese entry requirements and not Spanish, as we’d be landing in Portugal? Obviously this is a ‘how long is a piece of string’ question, but hearing from others that have had actual recent experiences really helps; thanks for your assistance. It really helped, cheers.

On an early Squeezyjet from Bristol to Faro 7 hours from now. Bus to Faro railway station, train to Vila Real and Spanish neighbour picking us up for drive to El Almendro, 40km North of Ayamonte.

Will check in with update after arrival (& tapas) in our secret gem of an Andalucian white village.

Cheers 'n' Beers,

Barrie, currently in Taunton

The only checks on the bridge now are the Tourist surveys

Excellent journey from Taunton to El Almendro, Huelva today. Everything ran to time, all connections worked as planned.

Didn't need to queue at EasyJet check in at Bristol as only had hand luggage. Advised to do so to have papers checked but not actually necessary. Printed out NHS vaccination certificate and Passenger Locator Form and had them checked (only) at gate.

Gave printed papers to immigration officer at Faro without waiting to be asked for them. He checked them again.

We drove over international bridge without stopping. No sign of any officials either side or either direction.

22'c here. Happy Day.

Glad you made it over the bridge without any hitches, that's very encouraging.

Have an enjoyable trip!

Hi
If you can print out your PLF it did seem to make the process slightly easier especially on the return from Faro
We were not able to do so ,we had them on our phones like most other passengers which was more time consuming
Saying that it wasn't the end of the world
