Can anyone please tell me if there is a Spanish equivalent of Self Raising flour

Yes there is but you will have to search for it.

I can't remember the exact name but is probably going to be something like Harina de Trigo con levadura quimico.

It comes in the normal sized bags. It seems to be a recent addition to the range of flours available.

Whatever the translation turns out to be, don't forget that the flour you get here is a lot stronger than that in the UK.

I will look for both Levadura and Bizchocos. Not that I bake all that often ;)

Why not use plain flour? If you didn't know, self-raising flour is just plain flour with baking powder and some salt added. Baking powder is easy to find and Google will show you the measurements.

I will often be found covered in flour in the kitchen making a variety of biscuits, bread and cakes and have found that the bog standard flour at roughly 35 cents a bag does the lot. As others have said a bit of raising agent and off you go. Have fun...:thumbsup:
