Question Fireworks!!

Anyone know how long the firework season lasts in Spain. Have heard banging and crashing now intermittently since the week before 5 November, perhaps they are having a long celebration which goes on until after Tres Reyes??

The firework season lasts approximately 12 months a year! Any given festival is usually started and ended with a display of fireworks.

I have been here three years and never had fireworks like recently. It is every night now. Also our friends were in town this week and there was a wedding at the town hall and all the guests were letting off fireworks in the crowded street. Apparently there were young children in tears. Talking about loud explosions here not your odd little cracker. My friend who is Spanish said that there was a law against the public using fireworks, but, they don´t seem to be taking much notice.

Yes any given festival as well as any wedding, birthday, wedding anniversary or generally any excuse at all.

I too have lived in Spain for many years and have never known it like this. Last night one of the explosions was so loud it shook the windows. You are quite correct it is against the law for the public to use fireworks. ONLY supervised licensed events are allowed to have them.

And quite right too! If only they would introduce the same rule in the UK. It would save hundreds of injured kids and tortured animals every November.

The problem is it might be the rule but everybody ignores it. Much like the rest of the laws in Spain really

I had a friend who went to a fiesta and was hit by a firework being let off in a crowded street - she ended up in hospital with burns as her dress caught alight What on earth are these people thinking
