I think they are cracking down on people renting out without declaring the income, and don't forget, that if you have someone checking on your property, and you pay them, even if it's only a few euros, then you, and they, are also breaking the law if they are NOT registered as a business. They did catch people here last year, and it was a very expensive time for all.

Re: fines for owners of rentals
There is something about this on Kyero.com - regarding an article in the Telegraph?
However, if its true, and such a licence was really required, there would be an extremely reduced tourist industry in Spain and Europe generally. My guess is, the licence was more of a localised restriction on a particular complex, sensationalised by the media. It makes no sense, otherwise, if such an unobtainable license was a national requirement, the knock on effect would be devastating...... |
Re: fines for owners of rentals
I think there was a thread about it on here, or maybe just a post, where a president was supposed to of been fined for keeping keys to some apartments without a licence.
Then it turned out it wasn`t true. |

Re: fines for owners of rentals
Hi All,
If this legislation is to be implemented in Andalucia the sting could be in the tail because somewhere in all that I have read on this topic there is a reference to "Urbanisations that were specifically designed for rental purposes". Who is going to decide if a pre existing urbanisation was designed with rental in mind and where will the community fit in that decision. Also H & S will come much more to the fore if a property is to be licenced and will no doubt disqualify thousands of properties that are currently rented out. Regards, John. |

But then it is a business and if you are earning you should be paying the taxes. If you were running a B and B in the UK and the people next door were doing the same, but they were doing it with out permission wouldnt you be angry ? |
