FIFA Corruption Charges !
Finally, the law appears to have caught up with them.
Sweet music to the ears of true football fans Fifa corruption charges: senior officials arrested amid World Cup voting inquiry – live updates | Football | The Guardian I always believed that the next two World Cup venues had been fixed. I hope they can nail Blatter as well. It's difficult to believe he's not in the middle of it. The whole set up stinks to high heaven and has done as long as I can remember. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/28/sp...mong-them.html It looks like a big thanks to Uncle Sam on this one. Netted them all in one fell swoop just at the very moment they were about to enjoy some of the rewards of their dodgy dealings. |
Re: FIFA Corruption Charges !
Poor old Blatter must be scratching his head wondering just how those he was in charge of could be so dishonest. :sarcasm:

Re: FIFA Corruption Charges !
UEFA has finally come out against FIFA and requested that the Friday meeting should be postponed.
Blatter is still intending to bury his head in the sand and go ahead and get himself re elected regardless. |
Re: FIFA Corruption Charges !
Fancy he will still come out smelling of roses as there is simple to much money involved. (time will tell)

Re: FIFA Corruption Charges !
I'm not so sure.
I'd be surprised if there's nothing in all the documentary and other evidence which has been seized, to incriminate him. Supposed to be a non profit making organisation yet they're sitting there with one and a half billion in the bank on top of huge sums in there own private bank accounts world wide. Fifa officials pocketed $150m from 'World Cup of fraud' |
Re: FIFA Corruption Charges !
I see Spain voted for Blatter.
Maybe no great surprise, birds of a feather and all that or maybe even feathering their own nest for future events ? A guy on my local forum expressed the situation somewhat eloquently. Blatter is like a lingering turd that you just can't quite get rid of. |
Re: FIFA Corruption Charges !
Will the European federations pull out if the world cup, will the sponsers withdraw.
Of course not despite Blatter there is just so much money to be made. |

He's gone

It's what follows that matters most. He is still in a position to sway a decision regarding his successor with the backing of so many nations looking for more of the same. Also interesting to see if the next to World Cup venues will be changed. Just imagine the reaction of Putin for instance, especially as it's the action of the US which has probably tipped the scales. Doesn't bear thinking about. I expect he'll be issuing his usual threats to Nuke the whole world and his wife. |

Jon PS NUKE everybody & wife.... as the Dutch dyslexic sex maniac said :) |

If the corruption issue was widely shown to be detrimental to their brands they'd surely have taken more notice. |

Re: FIFA Corruption Charges !
So Blatter finally has to face the music.
He'd only ventured out of Switzerland on one occasion since the scandal broke, and that was to visit his pals or accomplices in Russia. Let's hope that his sidekick Platini is out of the running to replace him otherwise we could probably expect more of the same. |
Re: FIFA Corruption Charges !
Football is corrupt to the core and I simply cannot find one nice thing to say about the professional game be it organisers, clubs, managers, players, fans or the media
The cheating, whinging, childish spats, unprofessionalism, greed, obscene wages, obscene transfer fees, obscene prize money and selfishness has simply ruined the whole sport Can't wait until the bubble bursts - it is long overdue |
Re: FIFA Corruption Charges !
Just shows that you cannot trust those foreigners.
