FAO Senor Cortez

Despite JDRs requests to keep on topic - On the Benidorm Thread you wrote:-

.............................and as have previously explained, on numerous ocassions, have no problem with GB,(why am I the only person here who calls this country GREAT BRITAIN).Also clearly stated I was gratefull for the opportunities offered by GB......................

Unless I am very much mistaken Great Britain in an Island made up of the "mainland" areas of three countries - England, Wales & Scotland, it is unsurprisingly the largest of the British Isles.

Think you will find your home country is England, your Nationality British, and you are resident in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Hope it doesn't take you as long to realise where you live if you move to Spain - but if you are unsure - please ask and I'll let you know.

Do forgive if I continue to take your advice with a pinch of salt but I really honestly and truely have never read any post you have made and consider it to be sincere - except for the irritating sniping ones of course.

Regarding your request that I kiss your arse - Thanks for the invite but in this instance I'll decline, but you feel free to do it yourself the next time you're going down to stick your head up there.

What about the other bits of the UK, which don't come under your definition of Great Britain?

Regarding LCortez, I`ve said my bit on two other threads. I`m not getting involved in this one. I`m going to agree to disagree with him. But, as I`m a woman... I`m the one who is right. :)

A multitude of smaller islands, which don't come under your definition of an Island.

I take it that the political definition of Great Britain must be wider than just a single island.

You take it wrong, as I said, Great Britain is the name of the largest island in the British Isles.

I could be wrong and I`m sure LB will be quick to correct me if I am - but I always thought that Great Britain was England, Scotland and Wales and the UK was all of these plus surrounding lslands and Northern Ireland.

So, the definition of the UK of GB and Northern Ireland.

These other islands aren't part of your "the largest island" GB and they're certainly not part of NI. Which part of GB and NI do they come under?

Debsy, yes, so really the definition of the UK as "great britain and northern ireland" is itself a little inaccurate, unless GB includes the other islands then the UK should be "The United Kingdon of GB NI and a few others".

Pedantic I know, but just following in the spirit of the OP.
