My father did it, aged 70 and with Parkinsons, starting from Buckinghamshire. An extraordinary feat.

Well done that chap.

We would like to do this, albeit slowly.

Yes good for him, excellent.

My modest achievement was Sarria to Santiago - 120kms. A great experience.

Go for it. He loved every moment, there's apparently a real camaraderie on the route.

Yes there is - it is a great experience and fun thing to do and was not expensive (unless you use some of these crazy-priced 'organised' trips)

If you want to read more about the many Camino routes and ask for information then the best forum in English is this one.

I've travelled a couple of the Spanish caminos - highly recommend them.

If we can get there for any decent amount of time thrn we would do this for ourselves. Not a group trip. That would do my head in.

Too late as most routes have been extremely busy this year. You will never walk alone.
The official website is this one. But, for me, it is not showing 2022 figs.http://oficinadelperegrino.com/estadisticas/
Here are some other links in Spanish which give differing but a illustrating just how busy it has been this year.
https://vivecamino.com/el-camino-de-...odos-los-datos
https://venagalicia.gal/noticia/2022...5872498836.htm
There will be many more who did not want or could not qualify for a Compostela thus there are more pilgrims than registered.
Pick the right route and you may be able to find some piece and solitude.
