Family holiday home within an hour of Malaga or Alicante airport - area recommen
 

Hi All,

I'm a Brit looking to buy a holiday home in Spain within ~1 hour drive of either Malaga or Alicante airport.

We have 2 young kids (2 and 4), so it needs to be very family friendly area.

I'd say we are looking for somewhere in the middle-upper end of the market I guess.

Needs to be a beach resort/town (so not inland) with lots of restaurants and bars. A marina would be a nice, as would a water park somewhere nearby.

I love Malaga but live in Alicante - check out the areas north of Alicante airport - San Juan Playa, or El Campello these areas offer all you want

I would look at the towns on the train line from Malaga to Fuengirola. It is brilliant for transfers and so cheap, it makes a weekend stay not cost a fortune in transfers.

in said towns I would look at 10 mins walk from the train stations.

i can reccomend Los boliches and Fuengirola personally as ticking all your boxes and a place I find lovely is La carahuela in between torremolinos and Benalmadena.

From this area you have easy access to the whole of Spain by train and bus and you are close to Gibraltar which is always a great day trip, and you can even go to North Africa for the day.

plus the weather is better than many other costas.
