Re: F1 coming to Madrid
When we bought our first house in Spain, initially as a holiday home, in 2003 our town had an Alcalde with some very grandiose plans - including an F1 track to be built next to the small airfield on the outskirts of the town. Great, we thought, we'll be able to rent the house out for a small fortune for a week or so - we could actually see the spot where it was suggested it would be built from our roof terrace. Of course like many other cunning plans from local politicians over the years it came to nothing.
