Not talking about terrazas, talking about benches on grass. I've seen one once in Spain - in the north near Leon.
I'm only starting this thread as (for once) it's really hot and sunny in the UK and we can enjoy some magnificent beer gardens...

There is usually beer in our garden all the time. ;-))

Closest thing I can think of would be a Venta that is out in the sticks somewhere. I've eaten at a few with outdoor benches, but the "garden" part was seriously lacking. Just the albero type floor with a few plants and cacti dotted around.

Spain isn't very hot on "lawns" as we know them. Maybe up north you might get this.

We used to go to a bar....well actually 2 bars.....opposite each other and situated in a park so I suppose you could call that a beer garden

One of the things I miss, smell of newly mown lawn, but beer garden, not a hope in hell around here

beer gardens can be nice, but not the roudiness that can come with it in the UK

In the south of Spain it is too dry for grass (unless it is artificially watered, as on golf courses, what a waste of a scarce resource).

I like sitting on the terrazas anyway.

Lots of "beer gardens" in Asturias. They are called merenderos. Traditionally you would bring your own food, but buy the cider there for a small bar/kiosk

Now lots of them sell tapas like chorizo a la sidra

They consist of a grassed area/garden with wooden benches, a bit like in the UK, with the difference that there isnt a big pub attached. And these places are in the countryside

I've also seen similar places in Andalucia, although the grass is replaced by wood/forest, scrubland or dirt. At some you can hire BBQs

Beer Gardens, who needs them. Full of 'orrible kids running around. Tables laden with un-collected glasses and wasps, oh the wasps. Not for me thanks.

Not full of kids at the moment (indeed not full of anyone). All this rain has made the beer garden here in the UK redundant
