Ever met a famous Spanish person?
Or seen them performing live?
I've seen concerts with Paco de Lucia, and (this year) Carlos Núñez.
But never really spoken to a famous person - same with Brits in the UK too.

I have spoken to José Carreras and seen him perform in Oviedo.
Also spoke to Julio Iglesia, he lived close to me. Saw him when walking the dog. He was out on his quad bike.

Fernando Alonso is our neighbour, I can actually see into his flat, although only seen him at home once
OH's family are big into music and know a lot of the flamenco and jazz greats including Camarón. My wife used to sit on their knees when she was a little girl. Sister-in laws bumped into Antonio Banderas on holiday a few years ago and went out to dinner with him. A few other notable ones, but I dont want to out them or me

But he's been dead 20 years! Smoked himself to an early death and he was also a heroin addict. Hope none of his bad habits rubbed off on your wife ...

She would have been about 6! Don't worry, he didnt shoot up while eating dinner. Sting says Camarón is the greatest singer of all time, which is high praise indeed. The one my OH remembers making a big fuss of her is Carmen Linares, who is well worth a listen

Gave Carlos Sainz a lift when he crashed on the Rally GB a few years ago. My brother was in charge of the stage.
Met Fernando Alonso at the hotel near Silverstone when they were practicing for F1, 2 years ago.
Penelope Cruz has been stalking me for years!!

Miguel Ríos is a famous pop singer and often visits Mojácar. We once asked him to sing a couple of his hits (Santa Lucía and Himno a la Alegría) during a fund-raising concert organised by Animo while we had a group of about thirty deaf children signing to the words. Not a dry eye in the house etc...
