Even more baffled Sky Cards

Thanks to the people who answered my thread regarding Sky Cards.
I am even more baffled than I was before, I have since also found out, that British Channels on the Family Package, the one that I have ,are automatic if the dish is big enough to receive signals , so it looks like, if I exchanged from a 1.9m dish to a 2.4m dish ,then I should at least get British T.V.(not the answer but another option)
Surely there must be some company who will take my 1.9m dish in part exchange for a 2.4M dish ,without it costing an arm and a leg.
Any advise on this would be appreciated.
Regards

Hi Davey-boy,
From your first question, you live in a block of flats, your dish is a Communal one , you have a £30 pay per view card, am I right so far?

If so, then you are limited as to what you can get, unless you upgrade your/Communal Dish. you can ask the other tennents to chip in but I very much doubt they will, but you can ask. Look at this recption map for the size of dish you will need for getting English Sky programmes.

Size of dish needed in Spain.

You will need, as you can see from the map, a 2.4 meter dish to get all the English SKY programmes. No matter what subscription you pay to sky to get all that you pay for, as for part exchanging your smaller dish, it would be like saying "I have a mini car and want a roller, do a swap". Who would do that? You could try to sell the Communal dish in the Costa Blanca, but would not the other tennents mind?

You could make a few phone calls to Dish suppliers and see what is their best price is, look in the Costa Blanca News today and phone round.

Once you have the bigger dish you can upgrade your subscription to SKY for a full package of programms, but do you think its worth it?

I think I have answered your question if your still lost mail me.

Thanks for taking the time and patience to answer my thread.
Yes you are right about most things I asked, but the 1.9m dish belongs to me
and I just thought maybe this would be a way of upgrading , what would I do with a perfectly good dish !and I don't want to pay a fortune either.
Kind Regards :scared:
