Default Estate Agents in Lanzarote, Playa Blanca

My Husband and myself are looking for estate agents for property in Lanazrote, Playa Blanca could anyone recommend any who they have dealt with.

We are looking to come over for a holiday in May and visit a few properties. My hopes are to have a few booked up so can view them properly. Not sure how to approach the Estate Agents; with our requirements or to e-mail them if we see anything on their website. Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks Kaz

Sorry I can't help with information about Lanzarote, but when I started looking for property in Spain, I contacted a couple of agents in my preferred area and asked them to arrange viewings ready for my arrival date, but they waited until I actually arrived and went to see them before they made any appointments. It was annoying at the time as I felt we wasted time, but I guess they might be used to timewasters and would prefer to make sure we were going to turn up. Whether things will be any better now, given the recession and the scarcity of buyers, I don't know. Good luck with your search.

I'm new to the board so am not sure if it has already been mentioned here before: please research very carefully when buying in the Canary Islands. If you need to supplement your mortgage by renting out your property, unless you buy on a touristic complex, you risk a very large fine (average 18,000 euros).

No villas are legally allowed to rent out though hundreds do, especially in Lanzarote - the clampdown started in Tenerife in Dec 2010 and is now moving to the other islands.

Hi Kaz just joined and seen yr post so this may be a little late! I now live in Playa Blanca - so good choice! You can find a number of estate agents on line and many of them advertise the same properties as they do not usually have exclusive deals with their clients here. that way you can view a lot of properties and make a short list before you get here. There are a number of bank repos on the market at good prices too at the moment.

If you want to know anything about particuar areas let meknow. good luck
