I personally think that the British have more of a problem with the "o" on the ends of the words, than with the rolling of the "R.

It is almost impossible for them not to add the "oh" on the end as in

An toh ni oh.

I have heard more than one English speaker speak English to a Spaniard in a Spanish accent. I think they think they are speaking Spanish

Actually, I expect that it does make them easier to understand. After all I understand people speaking Spanish with an English accent (i.e. an English speaker) far more easily than I understand someone speaking in a true Spanish or Andaluz accent.

When I first arrived, about the only person on TV/radio I could actually understand speaking spanish was Frank Riijkaard.
