Can anyone recommend one of these (area serving Costa del Sol/Costa Tropical/Costa Almeria or anywhere inland in this area)?

Thanks in advance!

The clinica santa elena, Urb Los Alamos, Torremolinos, is very good, we saw a Dr Eduardo Sanchez de Bodajoz, he doesnt speak English but they have translators there. Tel 952 38 63 67. It cost 120 euros for an appointment, an x ray and ultra sound scan. Very good, efficient service.

Re: English-speaking Urologist

Thank you both for your recommendation of this clinic; it will be in our list of 'important adresses).:D

My husband is actually on the list to have a urological operation free of charge on the Spanish NHS.

However, we have discovered today that there is only one surgeon and obviously he has to do the emergency/urgent cases first. As my husband is not in either of these categories, he has to wait. Now, we don't mind this. What IS a bit frustrating however, is what happened today. Phone call to come into hospital this afternoon and have operation done tomorrow. Then another phone call half an hour later to say it had been cancelled due to an emergency coming in. Luckily we were still at home, otherwise we would not have known this until we had got to the hospital.

The point being, we have a 2.5 hour drive to the hospital and I can imagine a scenario where we have driven this distance, plus even booked into the hospital, only to be told the operation will not be taking place. This could happen several times. They will not let us make an appointment.

So,....we thought we may check it out privately, but I haven't a clue how much it will cost. So if anyone has any advice, or can offer any ideas out of this dilemma, it will be truly welcome.

Gracias!

I know how you feel, sometimes you just want the security of being able to say lets deal with this now and get it over with as soon as possible to minimize stress.

The clinic can give you a quote as to how much the operation would cost. I think an advisory meeting with a specialist is around 70 euros.

Its easy to find, from the main coastal road, you come of near Plaza Major and just follow the hospital signs.
