English speaking optician in or around Valencia
Hello All
First time poster, long time lurker.
Does anyone know if there is an English speaking optician in Valencia? Have been scouring the web and used Angloinfo but have found nothing.
Cheers in advance

Re: English speaking optician in or around Valencia
BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.
Please let us know if you need any further help.

Personally, I now (always) go to Moraira - cheaper, better quality etc. etc.

Several opticians in the area you want are actually listed on the site you mention.

although just about all the 'Spanish' opticians in Javea speak English too, and those that I have used, in my experience are better than either Specsavers or Direktoptica - & yes, with 4 foureyes in our family we have tried quite a few!!

Was that your experience or was it based on quality of service?

Re: English speaking optician in or around Valencia
I was quoted much more from Specsavers than I pay for my contact lenses in a Spanish optician - & I know many people who have had problems with quality from there
my husband got 3 pairs of specs from Direkt Optica - at first they seemed fine, and he can't fault the lenses, but he is not happy with the quality of the frames a few months down the line - but they were cheap
I just asked him what he paid - 320 euros for the 3 pairs - he says he'll never go there again cos they are cr@p
