Electronics bits and pieces store
Is there a good electronics store (like Maplin in the UK) somewhere in the N. Costa Blanca? I'm looking for some cable adapters.

coax to F on this occasion, but I was more broadly just trying to find a good store llike maplin or PC world where you can shop for electronic components and accessories (rather than appliances). Thanks for the response anyway. I found what I was looking for at Carrefour.

But once you have that job finished and are thinking about other projects you may like to consider http://www.computerstore.es/, they are a franchise business and at the moment don't cover the whole of Spain but you may want to try the map on http://www.computerstore.es/content/9-tiendas. They do cables and so on.
Others which can help to give a comparison on prices are http://www.dynos.es/

I feel sure with lots of digging and frequenting backstreets you may well find some really interesting places. I have a local Tien21 that used to be a really old style radio spares and repairs shop - the old boy there still keeps his hand in repairing things from TV's to car radio's. And there is another similar type of shop in the centre of Granada. Sometimes I wonder if it is worth the effort, but I am not a follower of the throw-away society and remember my early days of making superhets etc.
If this is no use to you now or later perhaps it will help others who are looking for the same sort of stores they are used to back home

OK, good to see you got what you wanted, I have been surprised at the interfaces, boxes etc you can get in Alcampo.
