It's the same with all companies, there are no inclusive contracts. In Spain the standing charges are; Potencia contratada (as Fred says) Impto. Sobre Electricidad (Electricity tax) Alquiler equipos de medida (rental of kit) IVA (VAT) |

Endesa have more than doubled my standing charges to about 40E a month without explanation. Circumstances are such that the property is generally empty & it appears I'm being penalised as 'a low user' but I heard there WERE options for a fixed tariff I didn't hear this from Endesa. Advice would e welcome. I'm in Riviera.

Re: electric bill
The potencia contratada is 8 8 KW which seems high compared to most of you. I don't know why - its a 3 bed/2 bath apartment not a huge villa.

Does it have A/C, hob, oven, electric water etc.? I would have expected 5.5 or 7.5 but no higher. |
Re: electric bill
Yes, all the usual mod cons. I had a bulletin at the end of March '14 regarding a new system: precio voluntario para el pequeno consumidor (PVPC) which was of course in Spanish but I didn't get this until November as I was away. My Spanish is poor & there was no translation available on-line so I didn't understand it. Have tried to research it but no luck. Have just watched the bills rocket! the 'voluntary price' doesn't seem to apply to me but then perhaps I needed to respond to this?

Re: electric bill
I did find & translate part of it - 28/02 / 2014Informe on the proposed Royal Decree establishing the methodology for calculating the volunteers prices for small consumers and their legal status contracting states.

Re: electric bill
PVPC is the new name for the state controlled tariff for consumers with less than 10kw potencia.
It used to be known as the TUR tariff and applies to about 90%+ of all domestic customers. |
Re: electric bill
My Iberdrola bill has changed from bi-monthly to monthly. The standing charge is just over 20 Euros plus IVA per month. I did get a bi-monhly bill at the end of last year for 191 Euros and I was only over for around 8-9 days!
That's all electric. |
