It is curious, but I have read in more than an occasion that the " HMS Victory " is a identical copy (included the colors, yellow and black) of the " San Felipe ", 1690 (also named " Real Felipe "), a spanish line ship

Hola Relámpago,
Would they have built ships to resemble another on purpose? To confuse "the enemy"?

Galeón Andalucía update: next stop MANILA!

Following on from the Philippine Islands to Singapore, and then Sri Lanka. Now, I guess, somewhere in the Gulf heading towards the Red Sea.

Christmas on board:

An amazing adventure, wouldn't you agree?

Default El galeón "Andalucía" is now "La Pepa"

Time to put this thread to bed, but, before that, here's just a few more bits of information

More amazing photos from the pages of the ship's "diario de a bordo", and from the official website. An example, from the Corinth Canal on the return journey:

An update from March 2011:

The Galeon Andalucia is now known as La Pepa, in honour of the bicentennial celebrations of the Spanish Constitution which will take place in 2012.

La Pepa is moored (until June) in the Bay of Cadiz' Puerto Sherry, attracting the attention of film makers & crews:
