Hi, we are arriving in Javea on Easter Monday at about 4pm, does anyone know where we would be able to pick up some milk & bread?

We are in Javea Costa Blanca, so just hoping someone would post the Easter opening hours for Monday 6th April?? We have grandchildren with us who will need milk for breakfast. We will probably stop at the motorway service station if no shops are open?

Everything is open here on "the Monday following Easter".

Not too sure on this one but isn’t 6 April (UK’s Easter Monday) a local provincial holiday in Valencia province, inclusive Alicante province?

Yes I checked Spain's bank Hols & Easter Monday 6th April is a bank hol, so perhaps I better stop at a motorway service station en route, then if we find somewhere open than it's a bonus.? There is an English run Quicksave in Javea maybe they will open?? Or do English observe their own Easter customs in spain?

Why not get a few cartons of UHT milk, many use them all the time
Or freeze fesh milk.
Or get it few days before, it lasts a week.
If you are travelling down at that time, would some neighbours get it in for you?

We are back in uk now & probably should have thought about buying milk before we left! We only bought the villa last September & as yet not been able to meet our neighbours. Thank you for your advice though, I will freeze bread/milk next time! Not got used to it all yet!

Both Mercadonas in Javea are closed on 6-4-2015.

Pack a carton of UHT milk in the hold luggage 1 ltr = 1 kg. Otherwise the petrol station, as you say.

Just thought I would post that Iceland/overseas supermarket will be open 0900-1800 on Monday 6th April. I emailed the store to ask & received a lovely personal email from Caroline in their Customer Services, she also answered a query I had on being able to buy 'fresh chillies'. We certainly don't get that sort of service in the UK!

Hi we live in Javea and have been around this morning asking the same question. Simply put the shops around the Arenal will be open for the tourists. Then others are closed for it is indeed a holiday. There is a sort of supermarket just down the road from the Parador which the owner says will be open. It is on the corner on the opposite side to the Parador and facing the Arenal.

However the indoor market in the Old Town is only open 10 -14h.oo.

It is the Javea Iceland that's open, I emailed the actual store. Our villa is in javea & we arrive on 6th & as no one seemed to know when I last posted I thought I would ask the store direct. It's open 0900-1800.
