I don't think this is fracking - it's something different.

North Dakota, USA is about the most heavily fracked place in the world. Their level of seismic activity is very low by nearly any standard.

It's not tracking but something similar.

I don't think we can call this similar to fracking, with the exception of saying that messing with the sub-strata can lead to problems.

With Fracking if its done properly, it should be safe. There's a lot of discussion - but it does look like the jury's in!! As contracts have been awarded w.wide.

I have seen videos of inflammable gas coming out of pipes in fracking areas... but I wonder if these are scare mongering.

I am on balance pro fracking - and when you do it in highly developed areas, then you know there will be heated arguments and if the projects are approved, they would have 'run the gauntlet' and won.

So go for it!

There are risks associated with all forms of mineral extraction - in fact with just about anything. It's all a matter of weighing risks against benefits.

Agree, it seems to be quite different, here they are supposedly using an old oil/gas well to store huge quantities of compressed gas at a depth of 1,000 metres. Might well have the same effect though!

Surely the CIA caused it.
