Basically they are going to do what the Spanish already do, and it's about time, I used to know a number of people in the UK who were driving about but who should never have been in charge of a vehicle.

did anyone notice the ludicrous proposal for speed limiters? At a time when the economy is in tatters, some idiot comes forward with yet another costly scheme, which limits freedom and no-one wants

As we understand it the EU want to harmonise the DL requirements. However once read that this meant that Spain would have to remove the requirement for medicals. Maybe some lobbing has reveres the proposal we have read…we just have to wait and see.
