Default Driving Instructors In Spain?

Hi there,

My family and I are looking into moving to Spain on a perm basis, I am a part time driving instructor and run (with my brother) a company specialising in import/exporting of cars.

I was wondering (as im currently learning Spanish) what the chances are of obtaining a job as a driving instructor out in Spain and what kind of exams I would have to pass..

Any help would be grealy appreciated, or any feedback from anyone who has learnt to drive (or had to get a spanish drivers license)

On the other hand, does anyone think there would be a market in selling decent german vechicles to expats in Spain (as i know the Spanish love there Seats, so probably wouldn't go the German route) As we are selling more and more LHD (Steering on the other side to the uk) cars to Brits who are about to move to Spain (or to the rest of europe)

We normaly deal in the more expensive end of the market, but have sold things from Smart Cars to Ferraris.

Need to do some homework to see if i will have to re-train for something so I can provide for my family with our new life.

any comments/help would be VERY much appreciated

Default Cars in Spain

Hi zel,

Can't help you much with the driving TEST but any European Photo Driving licence is valid in Spain. If you have the old one UK one and live here you just exchange it for a Spanish one. Non EU citizens have to take a practical and written test (which used to be in Spanish).

Regarding cars at the 'more expensive end of the market' there is a demand in the Marbella to Sotogrande region, and probably others as well. Mercedes and 7 series BMWs are ever where and Porches and Ferraris not uncommon.

Hope this helps.

Hi jdr

I have not changed my licence as I have the new photo one and use it as a means if identification this saving me carrying my passport to use a dedit card etc.

Your local Town Hall should have a Foreigners Dept. who will advise on changing one, unless someone can advise you on this Message Board.
