Dragonflies

We drove through the rice fields on Monday and were driving through swarms of dragonflies, there were so many that it was like driving through a snow storm.

Today it was the turn of the mayflies.

Amazing some of the experiences that you have in Spain.

So you are the ones who have pinched our lovely bee eaters, they breed here and then disappear. So beautiful flying round and perched on trees waiting for an unsuspecting bee that pass. they were here till end of July, we could watch them using their nesing holes in the sand banks, but then early aug the went.

We had a family of parrots set up home on a radio mast not far from us, enormous nest and now grown to a couple of dozen, interesting but noisy.

Plenty of those round here, I know of two colonies, including the well known one at Villamartin plaza.

One thing I must say I miss here is the lack of birds.
