Default Downloading music in Spain

My eldest wants to download music here but I have found that, like everything, it is not that simple.
It seems , due to copyright laws, that Spain cannot provide this service by many of the usual sites. For example, Amazon uk have a MP3 download but you can't do it from here, same with some others.
Is there a Spanish site or alternative to this problem?

You can get an iTunes account in Spain and use that.

Careful with limewire, can be open to virus' because you are sharing music. Take a look at Spotify.

Spotify has been a revelation for me as streaming is free, so saves me hundreds of euros a year in buying CDs

Yes you have the option of downloading the music too although I cant see the point.

Downloading copyrighted content from "illegal" sites is against the law.

The site rules specifically ban messages about, or links to such sites.

Can we please stick to the legal methods of downloading material from the Internet such as iTunes and Spotify etc

I did use Spotify a couple of times to start with, then as you say it seemed to stop and just kept getting the "unable to buy at this time, try later".

I wouldn't touch any "Free" sites now, got sick of nasties on the PC and I have every security under the sun and it's illegal.

Napster is way to complicated a "subscription" service now.
itunes only works if you have their hardware and software.

From what I read, even with the legit sites there is a problem with the copyright laws here.
I also find that online anything here is pretty poor. They tell me it's because it's not part of the culture (look at ebay.es) and using credit cards online is a bit dodgy, half the sites have trouble with the card details and I have had mine stolen from a legitimate spanish site.

not in spain, if it's for private use

Spanish court rules free music downloads are legal for own use

unless it has changed recently, although I was only discussing this with a (spanish) lawyer friend a few weeks ago

Much to the disgust of America and the UK Zapawatsit said Spanish courts would take no action against people downloading anything off the internet as long as it wasn`t kiddie porn.

Maybe that's why it's impossible to do it.
Now that is Spanish. It's not illegal but you can't actually do it
