Lucky to have survived this!

Re: Don't taunt the sea!
until you have experienced the real power of the sea first hand then the closest you will get is to talk about being between a rock and a hard place.
I have been on ships that have been in typhoon seas, I have seen how they can toss a freighter or tanker around like a plastic duck in the bath, even a 45,000 ton aircraft carrier wasn't immune to being pushed off course. a 20tonne + generator, fully screwed down onto the after deck of a frigate was taken off with only a couple of gouges in the paintwork and a piece of railing taken with it. the sea can seem so benign when paddling at Clacton or Bournemouth. Don't let it fool you. |
