Default Doe's any one live in Los Alcazares

Hi
My partner and I are moving to Spain when house has sold. We have decided on Los Alcazares as near to coast etc have done quite a bit of research but would like to know what it's like to live there.
We are coming to the area in May for a week to look at a few properties and to find out what it's like.
As it's close to the airport can you hear the planes taking off etc.any advice would be helpful.

I thought that airport was going to close and traffic transfer to Corvera , when it eventually opens. Supposedly june 2016. Javea airport will then go back to being a military base. If that happens house prices in Los Alcazares may rise

Hi,we have a 2 bed duplex in L.A.We bought it in mind of our retirement, which is still another 4 years away, but holiday 8-9 weeks a year there until we do.Yes it does look like Corvera airport will eventually open, but san javier will still carry on operating for at least this year.We dont find it an issue at all with the aircraft noise, you will hear very little civil aircraft, and see even less as they fly in from the other side of san javier, you only see the odd one that may have to circle the runway on landing.you will see a lot more military aircraft, and then it depends on which months and times they will have various military exercizes.they had a big exercize last october, but still we did not find it an issue. We spent many years looking and visiting varios parts of spain before buying here, but it was L.A. that eventually ticked ALL the boxes for us,we will also be out for first 2 weeks of may,so if theres anyway we can help, dont hesitate to contact us,we bought a 2 bed, only 400 meters and less than 4 mins walk to a beautiful beach,in the centre of the resort, and absolutely love it.
