Default Do we need a gestor to handle residency tramites?

It seems a gestor wants to charge around €130 for each tramite - as a family we need to process a number of papers . Thus the costs add up! Wondering if we can do the tramites ourselves - we speak Spanish....

thanks

You do not say what your nationality is but yes you should be able to do so if your Spanish is good. The police web site will provide all the information on what papers you need to produce. Start here with the NIE documents then move to on to Residencia : https://sede.policia.gob.es/portalCi...tranjeria.html

Why not do them both together saving time and money?

Not that I can think of, the process is quite straightforward just bureaucratic in terms of gathering all the right papers and requires patience as you wait around .

If you are doing anything that involves Trafico, such as exchanging your licence or registering a foreign car onto Spanish plates, a Gestor is probably the most pain free option.

the same applies to anything to do with property transactions.
