Goldwinger is an unknown quantity at this point
Red face diabetic

As a diabetic moving over, does anybody know of any problems getting prescriptions for insulin. We will be moving to the Benicolet/Villalonga area of northern Costa Blanca.

No problems at all getting insulin. Prescription for the insulin and the test strips for your particular meter has to be obtained from the doctor at the health centre. Needles are provided by the health centre. But you have to buy your own test needles.

My wife is type 1 and has never had to pay for test needles. Don't know whether it's because she's Spanish or if the health service here is different.

I have Spanish friends who are diabetic and they all pay for their test needles so it must be down to the area so again it looks like we have found a difference.

Sounds as if we're lucky to be living up here! My wife does 6 tests a day, with an Accu-check glucometer complete with multi clix needles and tester strips.
