Denounced for Physical and Psychological Violence

I’ve just received a denuncia from the police stating that I am accused by my husband (we’re both male) of physical and psychological violence. I have to go to court on Wednesday. He never lived with me. I had changed the locks on Monday because I couldn’t take his endless daily verbal abuse any more. He’s Argentinian.

How serious is this - could I go to jail? I’ve got significant evidence of his psychological violence against me (video, email). I can’t imagine what evidence he would have to prove physical violence against him by me - aside from false witnesses.

I'll probably get a lawyer today. Anybody know anything about these accusations and possible consequences?

This could have serious consequences for you. You have left it a bit late to seek legal advice. Do you speak any Spanish?

Make sure you do get a GOOD Abogado to speak on your behalf and then get a divorce pronto.

My apologies. That is a very, very short time scale for the call to court and I am very surprised the court is sitting and good luck finding an Abogado to act for you on Jan 02nd.

I know - it seems ridiculously fast, and on 2 Jan!

I found a lawyer. Could be expensive.
