Re: DEBENHAMS
Debs mark their stuff in pounds and €`s in the UK shops at an exchange rate of 1,50 to the pound, could work out expensive. ;)

Spain is one of the most important market for those brands as you'll see if you go for a paseo in Sevilla, Oviedo, San Sebastian or Marbella |
Re: DEBENHAMS

Well, the British chavs stick to the tartan caps and the garishly branded polo shirt rip offs. If you go to the Burberry shop in Knightsbridge there arent too many chavs around, not that I could afford anything from there, the coats start at £1k! But they are priced at at least half that in Spain. |

Im a bit confused with what you say here because if you buy in pounds on the website then your credit card will give you the best exchange wont they?
Olivia What I mean is the store near us in the UK has dual price tickets on the clothes, like 100 quid or 150 €`s, I think they are still in 2002. ;);) |

On fashion the price is fixed when it is ordered which will be at least 6months before it hits the rails. Perhaps 12months before you are looking at it. In a sale maybe more. Many of my brands now come ready priced in all currencies. Once ticketed I don't and cant see them re-pricing for exchange rate. Perhaps you shoud compare say an electrical item. When we buy in Spain we buy in Euros and our card gives us a fair exchange. You buy in Pounds and your card does the same in euros!
You are right in some respects though. The price of electonics in euros has come down in the past year because the markets has had 12-18 months to get used to the stronger euro. |

One of the good things is that brands like Burberry, Lacoste and Hugo Boss price themselves as higer end brands in Spain rather than luxury brands. So they are quite a bit cheaper than in the UK and have items you cant get in the UK also.

I don't know! anyway I just thought it was another option for English people to get the products they want. Perhaps the price isn't the keenest. Cheaper than going back to the U.K. for a shopping fix! Let it rest.
If you want stuff shipped over, then you have to pay for it ! Shipping costs seem ok though at £7.00, better than Abercrombie at £20 for £150 worth, and rising ! Thaks for the heads up  |
