Default Daya Nueva, Pinada Gardens

Hi.
We are in the process of buying a Townhouse in Antonio Soriano Bri. It should be completed within the next month. It was a Bank repo, so all the sockets and switches have been removed, so we need to have them fixed before we can do anything.

Unfortunately, we had already booked a holiday in Benalmadena on 2nd June before this house became an option. We are therefore going to try and visit in the week beginning 2nd June to collect the keys and have another look. However, it is a 4.5 hour drive from Benalmadena. Our house won't be inhabitable because of the electrics. Does anyone know of a 2 bed property we can rent for one night at the beginning of that week which is close to ours?

Also, can anyone advise of a letting agent in the area who can look after it for us?

Finally, can anyone tell us about the bars and restaurants which are within walking distance? We are very sociable people and would like to know that we are within staggering distance of our new holiday home!!!

As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

Thank you for your welcome. I have read some old threads about Daya Nueva which make it sound like a lovely place. I hope it still is, and that this new thread will confirm that!

You are very unlikely to find a house to rent for one night. Surely a hotel would serve your purpose? It might take longer than one night to sort your electrics?

Daya Nueva is a very small quiet spanish village. Restaurante Rincon Cesar is the best.

Thanks. Is there a hotel in the village? It's just that we are with our friends on our pre-booked holiday, so thought we might be able to drive up (nearly 5 hrs), collect the keys from the solicitor, and stay the night to get a feel for the place, and then return to Benalmadena the next day.

Yes, I know we won't be able to do the electrics then. We will have to re-visit later in the year for that. The main purpose is just to collect the keys.

As far as I am aware there is not a hotel in the village, but there are many hotels within easy travelling distance. What is your budget / what facilities do you want?

It is an easy drive, but as you are aware quite a distance. Buying is not a quick process. You need to arrange an appointment with the natario. No doubt the seller will arrange it but I would advise you get a good spanish solicitor local to the area. Do you want a recommendation?

It is a quiet village off the beaten track. I hope you are not expecting much rental income, as you are unlikely to attract holiday visitors. I very much doubt you would even cover your costs.

Thanks Missile.

We do have a solicitor thanks, and she is dealing with it via PoA.

Not sure yet what we are doing re visit. Yes, may book a hotel if we do stay.

Be very careful with PoA, I have heard some horror stories.

You will need somewhere to stay. It is too far to do a round trip. You are on holiday, treat yourself http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_R...n_Country.html
