Cristina in bother again.

Thought it worth posting because it's appears to be such a major story and the Spanish media is reporting on little else at the moment, most of my Spanish pals also. The consensus seems to be she'll walk free, guilty or not, though her fella might do time. Meanwhile poor old Carlos isn't doing so well at present. Maybe it's all getting to him or maybe he even had a finger in the pie as was suggested a while back. |

I see democracy in Spain is taking a knock; Rajoy wants to forbid any ex-ETA prisoner from standing for mayor. And that's on top of anyone incurring a fine for being anti-Spanish. |

Just as well the punishment doesn't include a prison sentence or 99% of the population who think the country is shit at the moment, would be waiting of the other 1% building enough prisons to lock them all up. Come to think of it they'd probably be better off. Three square meals a day and free accommodation thrown in would be a sight better than what many of them have now. As for the 30,000 euro fines, a great money making idea at first sight, though with most of the population totally skint and the rest stashing their dodgy money in foreign bank accounts, that only seems to leave the expats who haven't yet done a runner as fair game. |

Looks like someone has already found her guilty and put her behind bars. |
Re: Cristina in bother again.
Our local mayor is supposed to be in prison, but I saw him walking about the other day, looking quite cheerful and waving at his admirers as he has always done. He's too old now, but I'm quite sure if her stood for office again he would be voted in again.
In English terms, which are totally irrelevant in Spain, we would describe him and all the others as being bent as ****. We don't and never will understand Spanish ways. (We have our Prince Andrew, but we also have 'treason' laws you don't really want to study too closely). |
Re: Cristina in bother again.
It's amazing how many 100% honest folk there are, our own royal family had bog all until the end of WW1, when George V was festooned with wealth as a thank you from a grateful nation, the mind bloody boggles. Lord Roy Hattersley, who came from very humble stock, owns more quality property than many multi millionaires, and then of course there's Tony B liar who is worth some £70 million.
As long as the little people keep on paying their taxes the system will prevail, just remember to comply with 720 guys. |

http://www.espiaenelcongreso.com/201...-su-audiencia/ Wonder if they suppressed it out of respect for their privacy or were they warned off ? That's supposing of course that the reports are correct ? |
