Crikey - Don't drink the water!

Police now believe that Abdellatif Aoulad Chilba, who is married to a Spanish woman, was planning to poison the water in tourist complexes in the area. It has been revealed that a phone call he made to his wife, who lives in Girona, on the 12th of this month, sounded as if it was a goodbye. |

We live inland and high in the mountains. I was told some years ago not to drink water by the local bar owner. He saw us having a drink in our courtyard which he incorrectly thought was a G&T. When we said it was agua he told us not to drink it. His reason he explained was that dogs drink water and they do not live long. He seemed to be serious too.

We do the same, and haven't suffered any ill effects after 5 years. I am of the opinion that a few germs are actually good for you (draw the line at poison, though!).

We get our drinking water from a Fuente at the highest point above town, we aren't daft...living in the campo we know what ends up in it further down. |

Hi
I drink the water from the tap and know what it contains as I had a sample analysed. High in salt, cal, and nitrates. above recommendations in feaces and something else. But I had been drinking it for seven years! Davexf |

I don´t drink the water because there are too many cess pits around, plus it tastes bloody awful. I love my tea and tend to use Nestle water as it leaves the kettle without any cal.

Totally agree, our water is safe but foul tasting we use it for cooking but bottled water for tea and coffee. Saying that our water in Eastbourne was poor and if drunk straight from the tap was like drinking bleach although if left overnight was ok.
Graham I suspect that would be true of most tap water. |
Re: Crikey - Don't drink the water!
