Re: Covid 19 booster shots

The Flu jab program usually starts in October. No specific details are available this early. The Covid booster (assuming you qualify for it) is done at the same time.

Yes qualify, so we will get two injections at one? Thanks

When the health centre has the information they will be able to tell you.

I just check the Salude Responde App from mid September. The Gripe annual booster appears on there when they start the program and it will show then if you are going to get covid booster as well. Once it appears make the appointment. I presume it will be available for over 65s but will have to wait and see.

Re: Covid 19 booster shots

There is apparently a new formulation of the covid vaccine coming in late September, at least in the US. It is optimized for the mutations of the covid virus that are currently circulating, so comparable to the annual updates to the flu vaccine.

Appointments for Covid are already available in the GVASalut app, at least in my area which is Valencia/Alicante.

I'll wait until the flu jab is available too them get both at once.

Agreed, thats a great idea, might try for 3 and get a shingles jab if they are available. All at once seems to be the best route, just if unlucky an aching arm once only:fingerscrossed:

Ex wife has just phoned to say 3 people in her office in Torrevieja have confirmed Covid and they are trying to get tests for remaining staff. I notice in the supermarket yesterday all staff were wearing masks so I imagine it is no longer a rumour.

Valencia is currently debating the introduction of masks in All medical facilities (hospitals, chemists etc.). COVID is rising rapidly in UK as well as mainland Europe. It's a different variety and aren't yet sure how much protection the current jab gives you

I don't read the mail ir believe much of what they write. I have friends who work in the UK NHS

The shingles (herpes here) jab is currently being rolled out in Comm. Valencia for certain age groups. Had mine earlier this year as I am 65 and a friend had his at the same time - he's 75. My wife, who's younger, hasn't had hers yet
