Default Costa Blanca/Costa Calida - mains gas?

Do any of the towns or villages along the coast or up to say 5 miles inland have mains gas?

I'm thinking of towns between Denia and Los Alcazares.

Hmm no replies. Does that mean there isn't any mains gas near the coast or that people don't know?

OK can anyone tell me of towns from Denia to Los Alcazares which definitely don't have mains gas?

a lot of the urbs have a huge tank which is then piped into the houses - so at least you don't have to lug bottles around

unfortunately you are all then at the mercy of the guy who is supposed to order the gas & sometimes forgets to...................

as I found out when it ran out in the middle of my shower yesterday morning

I know Bella Horizonte urb in La Nucia does. As that was advertised when we were house hunting. but it may be type that lynnxa says.
We ring our gas service and they deliver wed or sat am and the men trolly the big bottles down the drive to our gas shed on the side of the house. We give them a couple of € tip. We have 8 big bottles which we use 4 at time and 4 lasts about 4-6 months so no problem (now that we have a log burner!)

Not many places do have mains gas, there was talk about introducing it in Torrevieja at one time, but they would need a % of homes to want it, and the disruption to streets would have been horrendous. Doubt that many places along the coast have it. An internet search states that only the main cities have it.

We have mains gas in our town (inland though). However, there has been very little take-up as it is SO expensive!

For heating purposes, it's still so much cheaper to use a very good air conditioning system (which will also cool in summer).

Friends of ours went to the expense of getting 'put on' mains gas (in itself not cheap despite having the pipe outside the front door), ran the pipes to the kitchen and the new boiler. He's never used the gas boiler but has instead installed an electric water heater and a/c units. The prices he was quoted for gas was just not possible for him - so much cheaper doing it the way he now is.

Aah so this is what is meant by "piped" gas I've seen mentioned. Not actually mains gas.

Maybe the solution to the gas running out is to offer to be the person responsible for ordering it.

Is using A/C for heating cheaper or more expensive than gas central heating powered by bottles?

that would be an idea - & I'd be perfectly happy to do it

except the caretaker works for the management company paid for by the community & it's his responsibility to do that amongst other things

apparently we were lucky this time - last time it happened was over a fiesta weekend & there was no gas for 4 days

I'm not sure. I don't know of anyone who has true central heating powered by bottles of gas.

Many I know use the portable gas heaters - in fact we do so that we can wheel it into rooms that don't have a/c. We also use these to simply take the chill off a room - we always have the rooms ventilated though.

I don't know of any towns between Denia and Alcazeres which have mains gas. The Cepsa man delivers bottled gas once a week.

We have underfloor heating run from a gas boiler which is powered by the big bottles of gas ... 5 on and 5 in reserve at any one time. It IS very comfortable, but also expensive

Thanks all.

It sounds as if it's better to have your own individual supply of bottles then.
