Default Cost of Pool Installation near Alicante

Hi - We are looking at quotes for installation of an 8 x 4 metre pool, the land slopes slightly so needs building up on one end with a low wall (about 2 feet). To include dig, heating, shower, tiling (inside and pool side), lights, licence. What sort of cost should we be looking at as quotes seem to be wildly different. Can anyone make any recommendations of companies?

Around 10-12,000€. Get a professional company and preferably see their previous projects.

Not sure about cost in your area but are you getting the excavation work done by separate company, or are you looking at total cost? I assume you already have the licenses in place?

Well maybe I am being a bit conservative given 'heating and poolside tiling' but 30k seems a hell of a lot to me.

Hi no all work by one company - we felt easier to manage and no potential of one contractor blaming another

Thats what we thought - original verbals were around the 15K mark but written ones have rocketed.

Well, it all depends how much digging needs to be done, then you have the wall (how many m2?). Is the architect included because often these companies will just do the work and it's down to you to submit project to council etc.

It depends on the brand, type of pool, heating system. Just like a car that can vary. 15K is probably realistic for a pool that size with delivery, installation including heat pump and so on.
They must have given you a complete price overview, so how much are you paying for the retaining wall and excavation work alone?

I agree - 15k but it all depends upon the ground. Rock would be hard to dig. Soft soil would be hard to get a stable base on.

Heating, I would say, would be additional.

Licence costs would be around 4% plus the cost of an architect.

I think that is reasonable for a pool that size, made from reinforced concrete with all the equipment and tiled. We paid that for a 10x6m pool 15 years ago.

You can get cheaper pools made from blocks and a sprayed cement coating, but they are way inferior to a proper pool. Ours was constructed in exactly the same way as our 200,000 litre deposito. No cracks or leaks in either of them.

You must be joking - for a heated pool?

How do you deliver a pool? Are you talking about a cheap plastic one??

I would expect €15k to be the cost of a basic 8*4 pool made of reinforced concrete on a flat plot.
Licensing costs are for the home owner to pay.
If you are building on a sloping plot, want a patio and shower beside it and then heat source pump heating, the cost are going to rise dramatically!
So for a professional, insured company I would guess the quotes you are getting are about right! The heat source pump is going to cost €3000-4000 alone!
I am sure the written quotes have rocketed... things like heating a pool in Spain are not standard!

A high quality fibreglass pool is the most common and just like a modular house will be delivered by a truck.
Unless you are building something that's so unique in shape, have a huge budget I don't see why someone looking for a 8x4m pool would go for a concrete pool.
This is one of the better pool manufacturers in Europe and made in Germany but this would be around 20K with standard pack. As said, one would have to know what type of pool, features and how much work is required.
