Cost of Living in Spain
Hi, i am new to the forum. My husband has been transferred to Spain with work. We have been told that the cost of living is much lower over there. Is anyone able to help me with approx. telephone, utility and grocery costs for a family of 3. I know it will only be an approximate but any advice at all woudl be so much appreciated

I'm sure Mitzy did a list some time back about the costs of living in his part of Spain, I will have a look for it and see if I can find it for you.
There are a couple of bits in the Free Beer bit at the top of this page.

if there are just 2 of you, you have no debts and you are not reckless spenders you should be able to scrape through with about €1200 per month. Here's a rough breakdown of that figure:
Shopping: €300/month
Car insurance: €50/month
Diesel and car maintainance: €160/month
Water: €30/month
Eletric: €60/month
Telephone and broadband: €70+/month
Taxes and CoO: maybe €100/month
Other: €500/month
this is what somebody on here told me ......
if there are just 2 of you, you have no debts and you are not reckless spenders you should be able to scrape through with about €1200 per month. Here's a rough breakdown of that figure:

Heres our breakdown per month on housing and shopping costs.........
Shopping - €600
Car insurance - €38
Petrol - €195
Water - €30
Electric - €90 in winter €30 in summer
Gas - €20
Telephone and broadband - €80
House insurance - €25
Topping up skype and call2 - €15
Shopping - €600
Car insurance - €38
Petrol - €195
Water - €30
