OK - sent it Monday and this is what I have so far on the tracking page

19/09/2011 Admitido
19/09/2011 En tránsito
19/09/2011 En tránsito
21/09/2011 Salida de la Oficina Internacional de origen
21/09/2011 Llegada a la Oficina Internacional de destino

This is what I see on their English page

19/09/2011 Acknowledged
19/09/2011 In transit
19/09/2011 In transit
21/09/2011 Out source the International Bureau
21/09/2011 Arrival at the International Bureau of destination

Anyone know what the **** this means - has it arrived or not? What on earth is the the 'International Bureau of destination'????

Surely, when they were designing the website and decided to have a page in English, a vast company like this could have found someone who could speak enough English to write something that made some sense!!!!!!!

.

Have you tried looking on the Spanish equivalent page? It might be easier to work out. Which company did you use in the end?

I think it means the international mail hub in the destination country. It will then have to be sent to the local sorting office for delivery to final destination. You should see 'Delivered' on the tracing page when it's in the hands of your consignee.

Here's the Spanish version Fiona - I used Correos International Express service!

Actually - what rafikiphoto says makes sense!
When I posted it on Monday the counter clerk said it would take '2 to 3 days' so I was hoping it'd get there Thursday, Friday at the latest! Today is the deadline so looks as though I've missed it after all

Could it be 'International post office'?

To be honest, even the Spanish log sounds odd to me.

You would appear to have missed the deadline. It MAY be that the tracking only goes as far as their UK hub where it becomes the responsibility of RM or a.n.other company to complete the delivery. I would contact the recipient and ask them to confirm receipt.

If it's any consolation, in my experience the descriptions on UK delivery websites are equally ambiguous.

We recently sent a document via the same route (my wife's pension claim form) and the sequence was identical. The Correos tracking took a little while to be updated but when it was it was accurate, this was verified by a later telephone conversation with the Pension Service. From door to door it took six days.

It was just over €10 - yes, missing the deadline would have been expensive

Thank you paintermujer

So it wasn't a bad service in the end I suppose, and I liked the idea of being able to track it, though it didn't exactly keep the status updated. At least I know it's there now
