Re: correct grammar and punctuation plea
You might all hate me for this but please please could we try harder in the spelling, punctuation and grammar department?
I find it very difficult to take any post seriously when it lacks the grace that is inherent in the English language.
Isn't this a reflection on who we are and what we represent? Isn't the English language one of the most expressive and precise languages in use....hence its universal appeal...so surely its native speakers should take extra care ...your thoughts ....?

Lol...clever!! Xenophobic, but possibly with a smidgeon of truth.
Spelling is either something one can or cannot do;it does not denote any particular level of intelligence. If one reads a great deal, then one can develop a photographic reminder of what is correct.
I would rather have a lively and original point of view than a dull but perfectly spelt and composed one.
A beautiful rendition of any languge is a pleasure;be it English, French, Spanish, Hindi or Xhosa (the African 'click' language). However it tends to be about class and snobbery most of the time.
As an' upper class' friend pointed out to me once..'oh don't say serviette, it's too American and middle class..the word is napkin'

What a trollish post.
People that post on here come from all walks of life, not all have had a rich daddy to put them through college etc, ooops am I allowed to say etc ? I am sure thats not an English word.
As long as they enjoy themselves and find, or help give the required information, then that is all most of us on this forum expect, if its takes a little longer to read and digest, then thats tough.

Re: correct grammar and punctuation plea
I have only just seen this thread, haven't read all the postings but would like to add my thoughts. We come from all walks of life and friendship is a precious gift. When it comes down to 'correct' punctuation, pronounciation, or vocabulary then who is to say what is correct and what isn't. Personally I don't care - I value friendship and 'correct grammar' is at the bottom of my list of must haves.
