Default Conveyancing in the Canaries

Hi There.
Someone I know is looking to buy a place in the Canaries. My husband says the Canaries aren't in the EU????
Are they subject to the same house buying laws as the rest of Spain E.G the buyer has to have an NIE number and a Spanish bank account?
Anyone know thorough, honest conveyancing lawyers in The canaries?

The Canaries are in the EU and conveyancing is much the same as Spain.
They are classed as part of Spain.
However because of their location, they do have some special tax advantages compared to the peninsula but these don't apply to property, as far as I can remember.
