IT Contracting question
Hello,
I am a british expat holding Spanish residency for some time and am now contemplating working for a brief period (under 12 months) in Saudi Arabia as a freelancer. The contract I suspect for the job I am looking would be paid in pounds sterling daily rate so how would this work out from a tax perspective? Become a UK-self employed or a Spanish one and subsequently pay/declare my taxes in UK or wholly in Spain even though working in Saudi Arabia? This is somewhat very confusing situation but any help and guidance on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Regards, Samuel. |

Re: IT Contracting question
Thanks. At the moment I am without work in Spain and will be applying for the Spanish doll. Until this Saudi contract materialises, I would have to declare to local Spanish authorities temporary suspension of spanish unemployment benefits until the Saudi contract finishes. Question, will I be entitled to resume my Spanish unemployment benefits upon successful completion of my Saudi contract upon my return to Spain even though declared as Spanish autonomo during contract working period in Saudi?
