I am wondering where the request to update the BIOS came from in the first place. What brand is your laptop? This is very unusual for such a young machine.

Without repeating the info here, I have had a long discussion with the PC's technical support group (where I tried Loco's idea) plus have has some great info here. I will go to the local expert, if I need my PC before I return, armed with that. I am really appreciative of the feedback and help much of it so quickly!! But I think I have a good plan now and so my needs have been answered :) Muchos gracias. :) Jon |
