Computer help

Does any one know how to modify computer text
in order to show Spanish accents, ie. upside down
question marks, the squiggle over the "n" in the word
Espanol etc etc ??
And by the way, what's the name for that squiggle ??
They do say that ignorance is bliss !

You have to use a combination of keys to achieve what you want. Have a look at
http://tlt.its.psu.edu/suggestions/i...s/codealt.html
or google keyboard characters!

Hi Tim
That's great. Thanks very much. I'll need to put that site on a permanent tag, if that's possible.

Hi Pavlo

If you are using a spanish based forum then you can set your language on the board.I am only guessing that is what you want.

Hope that helps

Hi Frank
Thanks very much for that. It's not very often that the accents are needed, but nice to be able to use them at times.
You in a great place. Oodles of "St Pandemonium". My sister lives in Anogya.

Thanks for that !! I would quite like one of those for a pet. I think they're very appealing. Unlike lots of humans, they look after and respect eachother.

The squigle is called a 'tilde'.

Not sure if other posters have truly answered about getting the characters. If you're using a microsoft product like Word, then there are a number of options - the simplest is to "insert a special character" then select it from the list. Enya (ñ), for example, can also be achieved using the combination of 'Alt' + '241' (but not on expats I notice) or Ctrl + '~', 'n' (again not on expats).

Anyone know how to do it on expats?
