Commercial Vehicles
Just read a thread stating that some commercial vehicles cannot be registered in Spain. Was going to make a couple of trips with a LWB Transit van with all our gear in and then use it for work. Can anyone clarify this please

Iirc there are all kinds of restrictions on commercial vehicles over a certain weight, in fact I don't think you can import the larger vehicles if RHD. Not sure about transits though, whats the gr wt? |

Seen a few 'white vans' with UK plates on round here, but not sure how many (if any) are actually legal

For once it's not Spain trying to be a pain, apparently it's a new law that will be taken on by all of the EU within the next 4 years. Something to do with visibility, which thinking about it you can see where they're coming from. Having said that I'm somewhat confident (But you should get it confirmed) you can still use it in a tourist way (ie it can't be in the country longer than six months and has to be completely legal in its country of origin) |
Re: Commercial Vehicles
Thanks zel, will have a rethink. May buy a cheap one carry out the move and use it for a few months, then ?????? might try and flog to someone who wants to return to the uk. What happens if you are found to be using it say after 8 months, do they take it away, or a fine?
