Cold floor
Hi
Should have had underfloor heating but decided to have traditional rads etc, tiled floor very cold in winter months, thought about insulating the underside of the beam and block floor, but concerned if it would increase the condensation level when left empty, apart from carpets, slippers etc any advice.
Thanks

Carpet tiles?
They can be loose laid (no adhesive) and stack up for storage in the summer.

Re: Cold floor
Lets be honest there is not a lot you can do aprt from carpets or slippers, we have tiled floors like just about all Spanish homes but come winter I put rugs down and wear slippers, socks are too slippy

Re: Cold floor
Would insulating under the floor make much difference,as anyone tried it?

Re: Cold floor
Sorry nobody took your post seriously but retro-insulating on the under (cold) side of the floor really isn't going to make a noticeable difference to your chillblains! It's best to insulate on the warm side i.e. the upper surface. Solid tiled floors, even in Spain, are cold underfoot in winter, hence the inventions of underfloor heating, laminate flooring, rugs and slippers. You'd be better off spending your money on these!

A good pair of 'ugg' type boots works a treat... and you get to look like an eskimo!
