Any infor appreciated.

Are you referring to Pego in the Northern Costa Blanca? If so, then you will find that it is similar to Denia, Oliva and Gandia - the coastal towns close to it - although the summer is hotter because it sits in a valley. I was told that the locals all have summer houses on the coast, for that reason. Lovely town though, one of my favourites.

Pego must be sheltered from the sea breezes then?
Although I did see a video of around Pego where there seemed to be a constant breeze.
Your replies appreciated. Good luck in your search Jonsol.

As I recall, it is surrounded by mountains on 3 sides with one side overlooking the road out towards the sea - about 10k from the sea. The bit about people escaping in the summer is only hearsay, so I wouldn't let that put you off.

Mitzy might be able to add to my comments as I think he is familiar with the area.

Helloooo

We go to Pego from time to time because there is the biggest market there I have ever seen!!! The climate there is always similar to here, and we are maybe 6 kms from the sea .... I can see it from my balcony. I've not noticed any high winds there ... It certainly is surrounded at the "land side" by mountains and its a very pretty town for sure. Its not really that far from the coast, and El Verger, Els Poblets and Denia are also within easy driving distance. Theres the Pego-Oliva Marsh National Park also nearby

Its literally 10 minutes drive from Oliva and although as said earlier its likely to be a little hotter in the summer, otherwise I've found it to be identical to around here.

I'm going there on Sunday to the market so I'll take some pics if you like ... anything in particular, or have you already been there?

Some photos would really be appreciated. I have not been there before either.
Mitzy - do you know of any links for using public transport to Pego (from Gandia) ?
We are coming over for a quick week within the fortnight, so some planning is needed!
Many thanks
Jenna.

The local bus company is:

I guess you would need to go from Gandia to Oliva and then Oliva to Pego

But a hire car is the best bet

Thanks for all your advice.
Looking forward to those photos - we're flying out this day week.
Now for some good restaurants to try while over there.....
All the best.

Re: Climate around Pego

Our neighbours called round this morning and said they would go with us to Pego so they drove but the market was not there, so they came straight back and I was unable to get pictures. Markets on Thursdays, but we will be in England for a few days so will miss this week I'm afraid.

Will take some jonsol when I'm there next
