clearing a personal cheque.

Was given a personal cheque which I deposited with Bankia & it was registered on my account right away.Anyone know how long it may take to clear as I would like to spend a bit of it soon.Will go in & ask in the bank but would prefer to have a 2nd. opinion from another source just to be sure.
