If anyone is struggling to find a supplier of a turkey for the Festive Season as we have been, struggle no more, Mercadona Supermarket in Ayamonte can supply one, you can order a bird from them weighing between 5.5 - 7 kg. and it can be picked up on the 23 December

Hi, not sure how long you have lived in Ayamonte but Mercadona always had fresh turkeys available, when we lived there (2008-2015), close to Xmas & they are also available in the supermarkets in Portugal 🍗. Regards Bryony.

Haven't seen any whole birds in Lidl, the Portuguese supermarkets seem to stock just whole breasts without the skin on, or large leg portions. But to be fair, we haven't actually asked them if we could order a whole bird from them. Anyway, for those living in Ayamonte or close to it, its more convenient to go to Mercadona

Unless they moved Lidl, they were next to McDonalds close to Mercadona in Ayamonte.

Last year we were invited to Christmas Dinner @ a restaurant in Isla Canela Marina ,we had everything you would expect back in the UK, I believe everything was bought @ the Iceland store in Albufeira
