Christmas Opening Hours?
Does anyone know whether supermarkets are likely to be open as normal on 27th December?

And of course school holiday too; day varies year to year, they give the kids an extra day sometimes. If, for example, it falls on a Thursday then they have the Friday off & call it a 'puente'. This year just the Monday so no jollies off to the UK as per last year, when I went to London & the hotel was full of Spaniards

Rosemary, do you know whether or not there is a mother´s day similar to the ones that we have in the UK and the US? I´m just interested.

That sounds lovely. I guess they treat it like mother´s day because of the implications of the mother of Jesus getting pregnant.
